WORTHINGTON ---- John "Popeye" Buskirk Jr., 76, of Worthington, died at 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at his residence.
Born Dec. 7, 1927, in Greene County, he was the son of John W. and Blanche (Conway) Buskirk.
He formerly worked at Don Wilson Standard and Worthington Tire, both in Worthington, and Wolfe's City Service in Linton. He was a Korean War veteran, member of the VFW and American Legion in Worthington.
Survivors include four sons, Jeff Buskirk of Bicknell, Mike Buskirk of Poland, Terry Dyer of Palestine, Ill., and Andy Dyer of Westphalia; two brothers, Hubert Buskirk of Worthington and David Buskirk of Shoals; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles Buskirk and Rex Buskirk.
Services will be 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Welch and Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with the Rev. Claude Chastain Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. on Tuesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
