SULLIVAN ---- Lucille Vergene Stewart, 71, of Sullivan passed away at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at Sullivan County Community Hospital.
Born March 3, 1932 in Sullivan, she was the daughter of Elihu and Gladys Wilkey Huff.
She was a former employee at Rex Russell Insurance Agency and the Shelburn IGA. She was a 1950 graduate of Graysville High School, a member of the Shelburn First Baptist Church and the Shelburn American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Csilla Stewart of Kuwait; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jack O. Huffman of Bloomfield; two brothers, Wayne Huff and Lloyd Huff, both of Sullivan; one sister, Edith Ham of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Shane Huffman, Derek Stewart, Talitha Stewart, Jared Huffman, Justin Huffman and Sommer Stewart' five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stewart, and her parents.
Funeral service was at Holmes Memorial Chapel at Sullivan at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Michael Nave officiating. Burial was in Center Ridge Cemetery.
Friends called at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday.
