DUGGER- Alfred Wayne Camden, 80, of Dugger, passed away of injuries sustained in an accident on State Road 54 in Dugger at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003.
He was born in Sullivan County, Ind., April 25, 1923, the son of Wayne and Grace Patton Camden. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dugger, and was retired from Link Belt in Indianapolis. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post 224 and the Masonic Lodge, both of Dugger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Esra Camden in 1997, and one son, Robert Camden.
Survivors include two sons, John Camden of Dugger and Thomas Camden of Linton; two daughters, Sis Armstrong of Dugger and Jamie Ray of Linton; special companion Margaret Leigh of Dugger; one brother, Buck Camden of Terre Haute; a sister, Carol Morales of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Rev. John Lipscomb officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the Dugger American Legion.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday. The Dugger Masonic Lodge will have a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday.
