Katie B. Row, 83 of Flora, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.
She was born July 21, 1920 in Jasonville, the daughter of Fred Lynch and D. Belle (Harbin) Lynch.
She retired as the business teacher at Shakamak High School after teaching for 31 1/2 years. She graduated from Indiana State University Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree and master's degree Magna Cum Laude.
She was a member of the Shakamak Community Church and Flora Christian Church. As a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Jasonville Lodge, she served as Worthy Matron and Mother Advisor for Rainbow girls. She also was a member of Tri-Kappa, Triads and served on the Jasonville Library Board and Friends of the Library.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Bickel of Flora and Jerri Pettit of Terre Haute; one sister, Naomi Summerlot of Terre Haute; two brothers, Sam Lynch of Pennsylvania and Fred Lynch of Ohio; four grandchildren, Jessica Bickel Rodgers, John Bickel, Ryan Pettit and Brent Pettit; three great-grandchildren, Nolan Rodgers, Hayden Rodgers and Carter Rodgers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. "Shorty" Row on Nov. 18, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Fred Lynch, Jr., Harold Lynch, Max Lynch and Donald Lynch; and one sister, Virginia Lynch.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with the Rev. Tom Stapp officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Visitation will be tonight from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
