Elizabeth "Betty" L. Gabbart, 69, of Linton, passed away at 8:58 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Jan. 23, 1934 in Bruceville, she was the daughter of Clyde and Elizabeth (Lloyd) Jenkins.
She owned and operated Betty's Bar in Bicknell and was formerly employed at Shield's Ace Hardware in Linton. She was a member of the Linton Moose Lodge and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Linton.
Survivors include her husband, Claude S. Gabbart, Jr. of Linton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Mike Fusco of Linton and Cheri and Robert Lundy of Linton; one son and daughter-in-law, Claude S. "Skip" Gabbart of Illinois and Phyllis of Centralia, Ill.; one brother, Russell Jenkins of Princeton; one sister, Doris Kambs of Michigan City; eight grandchildren, Stacee Powell, Tony Fusco, Cory and Shane Barnes, Aaron, Sam, Suzanne and Lisa Gabbart; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Jenkins; one sister, Barbara Woolard; and a great-grandson, Logan Powell.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Charles Crouch officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, and after noon until the time of service Tuesday.
