HYMERA ---- David James Walters, 52, of Hymera, passed away at 4:50 a.m., today, Oct. 14, 2003 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born Nov. 25, 1950 in Sullivan County, he was the son of James W. and Betty J. (Marshall) Walters.
He was employed at Eli Lilly, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a member of the Hymera American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Carmella Terry Walters of Hymera; two sons, Andy Walters and wife Trina of Jasonville and Jeremy Walters and wife Dawn of Jasonville; three daughters, Stephanie Dixon of Hobbyville, Shelby Walters of Sullivan, and Chelsea Walters of Humera; his mother, Betty Walters of Hymera; three sisters, Debbie Franklin of Linton, Brenda Sadler of Hymera, Cathy Jones of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, Wes and Brad Halfacker, and Myranda and Ayden Walters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Independent Community Church in Hymera with Pastor David Swalls officiating. Burial will be at Longs Chapel Cemetery with military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera American Legion.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Carmella and Chelsea Walters.
