CARMEL ---- Albert L. Pierce, 84, of Carmel passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003.
Born Sept. 3, 1919 in Bicknell, he was the son of Gilbert H. and Mabel (Chenault) Pierce.
He was employed by Allison General Motors for 43 years as a millwright, before retiring in 1984. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II who earned a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantry Award. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0155; VFW Post 02999; and Central Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian (Smith) Pierce of Carmel; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald E. and Ruth Pierce of Effingham, S.C. and Michael L. and Denise Pierce of Zionsville; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Tom Walden of Carmel; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles J. Pierce of Clearwater, Fla.
Funeral service will be at Central Christian Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Friends may call at Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday.
