Samuel E. Garvin, 68, of Bloomfield, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at her residence.
Born Aug. 14, 1935, in Parcoal, W. Va., he was the son of Roy E. Garvin and Virginia B. Webb Garvin.
He had worked in the maintenance department for the city of Bloomington, and was retired. She was a former member of the Bass Anglers Association in Bloomington.
Survivors include a son, Sammy G. Garvin of Bloomfield; two daughters, Jenny Murley and Angie Garvin, both of Solsberry; two grandsons, Sammy E. Garvin of Spencer and Chase A. Murley of Solsberry; her mother, Virginia Dorsey of Bloomington; and two sisters, Mary Alice White of Jacksonville, Fla., and Louise Shelton of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by her father, Roy E. Garvin and one brother, Joy (Dick) Garvin.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Eddy Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington.
Friends may call at the funeral home 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service.
