Dorothy Helen Houghton, 87, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
She was born Jan. 17, 1918, in Jasonville, the daughter of Casgar and Etta Nicholson Harlow. She was a secretary for 40 years at various area businesses, retiring from Criss Insurance.
She was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church, Eastern Star, Tri Kappa, and formerly sang with the Triads singing group. She was an avid bingo, bridge and euchre player.
Survivors include her husband, Horace Houghton of Jasonville, whom she married 64 years ago; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Randy Chittenden of Avon, Ind., and Bonnie and Ronald Reynolds of Brownsburg, Ind.; four grandchildren, Holly Fantozzi, Cory Johnson, April Harvey and Kari MacKenzie, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Josephine Chambers and Mariotta Harlow.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with pastors Mark Messmer, Ernie Harvey Jr. and Michael MacKenzie officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Friends may call at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawton Street Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
