John R. Hostetter, 83 of Elnora, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003 at Greene County General Hospital.
Born Oct. 6, 1973 in Greene County he was the son of John H. and Mabel Royal Hostetter.
He was a machinist. He was a member of the Elnora Christian Church where he served as chairman of the board. He was a member of the White River Valley Antique Association and served as 2001 Grand Marshall of Daviess County Fair Parade.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hall Hostetter; two sons, John Edward Hostetter of Elnora and Larry Wayne Hostetter of Lakeville, MN; three brothers, Walter Steele of Worthington, Dale Padgett of Linton and Jack Padgett of Oregon; two sisters, Clara Belle Grafton of Loogootee and Aretta Spoonmore of Avoca, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Arterial Lateral Sclerosis, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home on Monday at 10 a.m. with Randall Barnett officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday and 8:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
