James Wilferd Headley, 83, of Linton, passed away at 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Aug. 13, 1920 in Greene County, he was the son of James V. and Mary Bedwell Headley.
He worked at the General Electric plant in Linton in the major maintenance department for 30 years, retiring in 1981.He was a member of Linton Church of Christ, and graduated from Linton High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II.
Survivors include, his wife, Marjorie (Johnson) Headley of Linton; two sons, James David Headley of Switz City and Mark Wallace Headley of Westphalia; step son, Paul Fry of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jacob and Bethany Headley; and one sister, Opal Martindale of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iris Rose Abercrombie Headley; two brothers, Myrle and Arlo Headley; and his parents.
Funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 1 p.m. on Thursday with Bryan Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday.
