Ronald L. Goodman, 69, of Linton, passed away at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born March 12, 1934 in Greene County, he was the son of Edgar and Pearl (Spurgeon) Goodman.
He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company for 42 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Linton; Elks BPOE 866; Switz City Masonic Lodge 676 F&AM; and United Mine Workers of America Local 1410.
Survivors include, his wife, Darlene Chamberlain Goodman of Linton; one son, David Joe Goodman of Sullivan; one daughter, Robin (Goodman) Wilkins of Linton; six grandchildren, Shane Wilkins, Kaysi Bernard, Nicole Lee, Brock Goodman, Dayne and Derrick Goodman; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Joe Goodman of Linton and Ottmer E. Goodman of Nashville; and one sister, Marilyn Dailey of Linton.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dick, Don and Howard Goodman; one sister, Delores Hogue; and his parents.
Funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with Allen Buzard and Larry Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today, and a Masonic Lodge service will be today at 7 p.m.
