BROWNSBURG ---- Paul E. Puckett, 80, of Brownsburg and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away 6:10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2003 at his residence in Brownsburg.
Born June 5, 1923 in Clay County, he was the son of Walter and Stella (Sluder) Puckett.
He retired from Allisons in Indianapolis and worked for the Brownsburg City Police Department. He attended Pittsboro Baptist Church. He was a WW II Army veteran and POW and served during the Korean War in the Air Force Reserves.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Don Wilson of Brownsburg; sister, Olive Scamihorn of Bloomington; two brothers, Rex Puckett of Plainfield and Max Puckett of Greenwood; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal (Miller) Puckett on Dec. 30, 1998; three sisters, Inez Weir, Wilma Woodall, and Sarah Opal Puckett; one brother, Ronald Puckett; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville at 1 p.m. on Thursday with the Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Sanders Cemetery near Lewis. Military graveside rites will be administered by Jasonville American Legion Post 172 and the Jasonville VFW Post 6225.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
