Lillian F. Gentry, 90 of Linton, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Nov. 29, 1921 in Boonville, she was the daughter of Edson and Iona (Jarrett) Lynch.
She was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital Nursing Program. She was a registered nurse, working several years at General Electric, Greene County General Hospital and retiring from Linton-Stockton Elementary School. She was a co-owner of the Cine' theater in downtown Linton with her husband during the 1960s. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Psi Iota Xi of Linton, and Greene County American Cancer Society.
Survivors include, two daughters, Barbara Keller of Linton and JoAnn Briner of Worthington; two sons, John Gentry of Alberquerque, N.M. and Thomas Gentry of Dugger; two sisters, Margaret Batson of Boonville and Ellen Lynch of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron R. Gentry on Aug. 25, 1966; grandson, Randy Gentry; sister, Mary Jane Williams; and her parents.
Funeral service will be at Welch &Cornett Linton Chapel at 10 a.m. on Monday with the Rev. LaMont Bonath officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, and after 9 a.m. on Monday until the time of service.
