Clarence E. Weddle, 81, of Linton, passed away at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born Sept. 7, 1922 in Linton, he was the son of Carl and Flo (Reed) Weddle.
He was a heavy equipment operator and street superintendent for the City of Linton, retiring in 1987. He attended White Rose Church.
Survivors include two sons, and daughter-in-law, Clarence E. and Rita Weddle, Jr., of Clay City, and Gary Weddle and his fiance' Vicki of Jasonville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karilyn Morrow of Martinsville, Janice and Mike Abrams of Bloomfield, and Linda and Trevis Pemberton of Springville; one brother, Charles Leo Weddle of Linton; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. (Weaver) Weddle on Aug. 8, 1998; one son, Ron Weddle; daughter, Brenda Jean; three sisters, Fern Peltier, Elsie Collins and Thelma Bryant; and his parents.
Funeral service will be at Anderson-Poindexter Linton Memory Chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Robert Ross officiating. Burial will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Sandborn.
