BOONVILLE ---- Jimmy D. Clayton, 68, of Boonville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003 at Southwind Healthcare in Boonville.
He worked for Peabody Coal Company's Universal Mine. He retired from Peabody Coal Company's Squaw Creek Mine in 1992 after 21 years of service. He was an U.S. Army veteran and a life member of VFW Post 3418 in Boonville. He was a member of the American Legion Post 200 in Boonville and a former member of the Boonville Elks Lodge 1180.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Russell and Terri Clayton of Boonville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mandy Clayton of Evansville and Angie and Alan Saltzman of Boonville; one sister, Mary B. McCammon of Dugger; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Clayton of Dugger; two grandchildren, Alan H. Saltzman and Clayton D. Saltzman; two step-grandchildren, Kristi Riley and John Riley; and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville at 2 p.m. on Saturday with the Rev. John Swain officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans memorial services.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. today, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
