Blanche Dean, 84, of Linton, passed away at 2 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, at her daughter's home in Greenfield, Ind.
She was born in Caldwell County, N.C., on March 1, 1919, the daughter of Charlie Eckard and Elizabeth Holtsclaw Eckard.
She is a former employee of the General Electric plant in Linton and a member of the Linton Assembly of God.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph Dean, whom she married in 1967; two sons, Jerry Dean and Larry Dean, both of Linton; a daughter, Betty Wines of Greenfield, Ind.; a brother, Ozzie Eckerd of Hudson, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Herndon; a daughter, Kay Plank; two brothers; three sisters; and a grandson, Jeff Wines.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with the Rev. William Reigel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
