ACTON, CALIF. ---- Laura Elizabeth Dugan-Smedley-Thompson, 75, of Acton, Calif., and formerly of Pleasantville community passed away Saturday, July 19, 2003 at the Mesa Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
Born Sept. 24, 1927 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Ralph L. and Clara Eslinger Dugan.
Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Smedley-Haynes of Linton; former husband, Robert D. Smedley of Sullivan; grandchildren, Michael Gadberry (Kathleen) of Mesa, Ariz., Darla (Brian) Gadberry-Chestnut of Bloomfield, David Gadberry of Columbus and Bart (Rachel) Haynes of Linton; two step- children, Kathy Thompson of North Carolina and John Thompson of Indiana; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flo Vester and Pauline Miller both of LaPorte; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by second husband, Tommy F. Thompson on Feb. 5, 2000; two brothers, Gene Dugan and Ralph Dugan Jr., and one sister, Juanita Dugan-Percell.
Funeral sevices will be held at the Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger at 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. John Booker officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. on Friday.
