He was born Sept. 30, 1987, in Sullivan, the son of Bobby S. and Char Lene (Thompson) Mowery.
A 2006 Shakamak High School graduate, he was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, was an underground coal miner, attended Vincennes University, majoring in aviation, and Ivy Tech Community College, majoring in aviation maintenance. While in high school, he was a member of the Future Farmers of America.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby S. and Char Lene Mowery of Jasonville; a sister, Chasity Mowery and her fiancÚ, Tony Spade, of Robinson, IL; maternal grandparents, Roger & Judy Thompson of Hymera; paternal grandparents, Shirley Mowery of Linton, and Bill and Jackie Mowery of Sullivan; Justin's girl friend, Jessi Boucher of Jasonville; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Dan Fry, Bill, Jr. and Renee Mowery, Jeff Mowery, Rick and Kelly Pickett and Mike and Catha Stewart, and several cousins, including Clint Fry, who was also Justin's best friend.
He was preceded by a cousin, Kelsey Stewart.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Revs. Terry Dowell & Rony Reyes officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made through the funeral home payable to Bloomfield State Bank for a future scholarship fund.
