Charles Jesse Trowbridge, 89, of Tampa, FL and formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Oct. 8, 2007.
Born in Delaplaine AK, he lived in Tampa since 1992, retiring from his Florida business, Primary Maintenance Services, in 2004.
In Indiana, he was employed at Ellis Trucking at the State Board of Health. A World War II veteran he was member of the 338th Engineers during the North Africa and Italy campaigns,
He is survived by his sister, May Bland; brothers, John and Clifford and his wife Margaret, all from Indiana; his daughter, Viviana and her children Marcella and Nicholas Miller from Marietta, GA; and his son Ronald and his children Heather and Justin from Tampa. Charlie was especially fond of his grandchildren as well as Becky Pearson, the mother of Ronald's children and Kerry their step-mother.
Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen (Melton) of Indiana, his second wife of 57 yrs, Wanda (Gallo) of Italy, his parents, Rolla and Zelpha (Andis), his brother Leonard and his wife Naomi, and also from Indiana, his sister-in-law Katherine and his brother-in-law Ralph Bland. Charlie also leaves behind his new friend and companion Blanche, who he came to love in his final days.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at the Good Shepherd Chapel, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250 with services and interment immediately afterwards.
