Hazel Lorene (Gambill) Mitchell, 94, of Linton and formerly of Jasonville, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007 at Lyons Health and Living Center.

Born Oct. 8, 1913 on the Greene-Sullivan County line to Grover Cleveland Gambill and Daisey Mae Wright Gambill.

She was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church and an honorary member of the Southwestern Indiana BMW Club, Inc.

Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Wayne Scott, Patsy and Jerry Hill, Shirley and Bill Sapp -- all of Jasonville, Beverly and David Brasher, June and Bryan Shacklett -- both of Linton and Sharon and Donnie West of McCordsville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Regina Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Jim Mitchell -- all of Jasonville, and Tom and Shelia Mitchell of Blackhawk; 22 grandchildren, Ken (Anita) Scott, Karen Scott (Randy) Bays, Don Scott, David Scott, Randy Hill, Rusty (Cam) Hill, Rhonda Hill (Jim) Hayes, Robbie (Tonya) Hill, Ritchie Hill, Beckey Sapp (Mike) Hammond, Danny Sapp, Connie Sapp (Scott) Rash, Don (Jean) Brashear, Ron (Sonia) Brashear, Donnie (Wendy) West, Jr., Shelly (Victor) West, Doug (Maria) West, Mike (Christy) Mitchell, Jeremy (Nikki) Mitchell, Sierra Mitchell (Donnie) Pinkston, Ira (Hawa) Mitchell and Jade Mitchell;48 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; two nephews, two nieces, and an adopted daughter, Elizabeth Vaughn (Ralph) Niecely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lystra Durell (Tubby) Mitchell, who died Sept. 29, 1972; her sister and brother-in-law, Erma May Gambill Bush and Wilford; her brother, Robert Gambill; two grandsons, Gary Wayne Scott and Paul Talbot Mitchell; and great-granddaughter, Amanda Marie Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Dwight Gould and Pastor Rony Reyes officiating.

Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Midland.

Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
