JAIL LOG

• Oct. 24 -- Justin L. Axsom, 21, Jasonville, was arrested on preliminary charges of strangulation and battery to a pregnant woman. Bond was set at $14,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25. Linton Police Department Corporal Paul Clark was the arresting officer.

• Oct. 24 -- Dustin K. Galyan, 20, Bloomington, was arrested on preliminary charges of illegal possession and failure to appear with bond set at $5,000. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy John Fowler was the arresting officer.

• Oct. 24 -- Nicholas J. Galloway, 24, Bloomfield, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating while being an habitual traffic violator, released on $1300 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29. Greene County Sheriff's Department Reserve Officer Mark Richardson was the arresting officer.

• Oct. 24 -- Joseph L. Champion, 18, Bloomfield, was arrested on a preliminary charge of criminal mischief, released on $1300 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29. Bloomfield Police Department Officer Shane Smith was the arresting officer.

• Oct. 24 -- Ronald D. Hertaus, 44, Jasonville, was arrested on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, with bond set at $4,000 bond. Indiana State Police Trooper Eric Russell was the arresting officer.

• Oct. 24 -- Jerry J. Deckard, Jr., 27, Bloomfield, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana, released on $1000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeremy Inman was the arresting officer.

ACTIVITY LOG

The Linton Police Department's activity log on Tuesday included one title check, three information only, one vandalism, one school/foot patrol, one accident with property damage, two lost and founds, one animal complaint, two assists to other agencies, two domestic disputes and one community relations.

• Oct. 24 -- A female driving a white mini-van left the scene of an accident after she drove off the roadway, knocked a mailbox down then continued down a ditch before fleeing the scene in front of a Route 3, Linton residence around 2 p.m.

LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

• Oct. 24 -- A resident on Route 1, Linton, reported a lost or stolen license plate. LPD Reserve Officer was the investigating officer.
