Margaret "Meg" Hardesty, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 at her residence in Bloomfield.
Born December 30, 1918 in Koleen, she was the daughter of Lon and Sarah (Haywood) Allen.
She worked for RCA in Bloomington retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star in Bloomfield, and the Greene County General Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving relatives include: two daughters, Patty Vest and Connie Minks both of Bloomfield; one son, Ronald Hardesty of Worthington; one brother, Carl Allen of Bloomfield; her grandchildren, Andy Vest, Kim Hardesty, Randy Vest, Kambi Davis, and Julie Martin all of Bloomfield, and Chad Minks of Bloomington; her great, grandchildren, Anthony Vest, Samantha Jones, Ashley Shields, and Brianna Hardesty-Baldwin; her step great, grandchildren, Mitzi Moss, Darren Grounds, Larry Grounds, and Carrie Hines; her great, great, grandchildren, Shawna, Quinn, Nathan, Brianne, Trently, and Lucy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Noah Hardesty on January 19, 1978, one great, grandson, Curt Davis, and her brothers and sisters, Lee Allen, Mildred Lucas, Gilbert Allen, Wilbert Allen, Jim Allen, Wayne Allen, and Imola Allen.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 31 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Arlen Pope, Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler, and Rev. Kevin Raidy officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
