Shirlie M. Miller-Scott, 74, of Worthington passed away at 4 a.m. Friday at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Jasonville.
Born Jan. 17, 1933 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Russell and Mary Elizabeth Fowler Beatty.
She was a retired school teacher and graduated from Indiana State Teacher's College. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and song leader.
She is survived by her companion Lloyd Scott of Worthington; daughters Connie Zellers of Jasonville and Miller-Casey of Locut Grove GA; sons Jeff Garrett and Eric Garrett, both of Jasonville; a sister Betty Herald of Switz City; a brother Bob Beatty of Bloomfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bruce Beatty and grandson, Christopher Zellers.
Visitaiton will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Max Baker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
