She was born Sept. 2, 1926 in Linton, the daughter of George and Muriel (Burris) Geatches.
A 1944 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, she was a member of the First Christian Church of Linton, was manager at the Linton Elks for 15 years, was a supervisor at Keller Aluminum Chair Factory in Linton, retiring in 1992 and was a member of the Ladies Elks, Moose Lodge, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Bridge Club, all of Linton.
Survivors include: five sons, Daniel Geatches and his wife, Donna, of Linton, Carlos "Shep" Edmonson and his wife, Judy, of Jasonville, Rick Edmonson and his wife, Patti, of Indianapolis, Steven "Randy" Edmonson of Valdosta, GA, and Edwin "Eddie" Edmonson and his wife, Lori, of Lyons; three daughters, Marilyn Rogers of Linton, Teresa Graham and her husband, Raymond, of Newburgh and Rebecca "Becky" Siddons of Plainfield; a, a brother, Robert Dale Geatches of Linton; a sister-in-law, Donna Geatches of New Port Richie, FL; 25 grandchildren, Danny (Destiny) Geatches, Rhonda (Kenny) Himebrook, Mike (Amy) Geatches, Dustin (Brandi) Geatches, Eric (Ellen) Geatches, Angie (Bill) Doyle, Wendy (Brent) Sexton, Mindy (Travis) Roberts, Stephanie Arbuckle, Stephen "Steve" (Billie) Stockrahm, Stacey (Jeremy) Clark, Seth Stockrahm, Keri (Lance) Stephens, Brooke (Brandon) Kline, Amanda Edmonson, Brian Edmonson, Jamie (Holly) Owens, Jennifer Owens, Daffanie and Cheranie Edmonson, Shannon (Rob) Curry, Erica Edmonson, Eric, Adam, and Matt Bland; and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos M. Edmonson; a brother, William "Bill" Geatches; a grandchild, Anissa Stockrahm; two great-grandchildren, Daniel Ray Geatches, Jr. and Christopher Scott Geatches; and her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Rev. Doug Cassell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday.
