Joseph H. Rickard, 69, of Rosedale, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in Heritage House of Clinton.
He was born Aug. 31, 1938, in Bicknell, to Joseph Rickard and Helen Bond Rickard.
He was a retired UPS driver with 25 years of service. He was a graduate of Merom High School and attended Purdue University. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rockville. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Tony Kashon Post 290 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Billie Haughee Rickard, whom he married Sept. 21, 1971; one son, Joel Rickard and wife Kathie, and their daughter, Alyssa, all of Lizton; three daughters, Jamie Kent and her husband Jeff, and their sons, Nicholas and Nathan Ramsey, all of Brownsburg, Joni Albright and her husband Bill, and their son, Michael Albright, all of Brazil, Heather Lawson and her husband Brent, and their daughter, Olivia Josephine Lawson, all of Rosedale; two stepdaughters, Abbey McArty of McCordsville, and Alison McArty and her daughter, Erin Throne, both of Clinton; his mother-in-law, Pauline Haughee of Rockville; one brother, Gerald Rickard and wife Mary of Graysville; and two sisters, Sue Rickard of Graysville, Peggy Beasley and husband Mickey of Jasonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Hayly Morgan Lawson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 201 E. Ohio St. in Rockville, with the Rev. Joseph L. Villa officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, with graveside military honors by American Legion Post 290.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Gooch Funeral Home in Rockville, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m.
