Carrie Lee Pilant, 84, of Lewis, passed away at 5:34 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
Born June 7, 1947 in Clay County, she was the daughter of Otis and Leona (Snellenberger) Mullens.
A 1942 graduate of Coalmont High Schools, she homemaker and a member of the Friendly Grove Baptist Church where she was active in the ladies missionary circle.
Survivors include: her husband, Wayne Pilant, whom she married on Jan. 26, 1947; daughter and son-in-law Rita and Jeff Sisk of Lewis; son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Yvonne Pilant of Lewis; daughter-in-law, Patty Pilant, of Farmersburg; sisters, Dorothy Pilant of Jasonville and Norma Bemis of Coalmont; nine grandchildren: Michelle and Brian Curry, Marci and Jeff Holley, Brad Pilant, Jennifer Richardson, Cindy Pilant, Greg and Dara Pilant, Amy and Cameron Dickson and Jason Mills; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Walter Pilant; a great-grandson, Chace Hadley; sisters, Louise Kittle, Nellame Criss, Ressa Raley, Anna Muriel Shew; brothers, Cecil Mullens and Floyd Mullens.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Friendly Grove Cemetery at Lewis.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
