GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

* Dec. 5 -- No injuries were reported but one vehicle left the scene of an accident involving three vehicles at 7:43 a.m. at the Y-intersection of State Road 54 and State Road 45 in eastern Greene County. There were three vehicles northbound on S.R. 54 including a full-sized, extended-cab black Chevrolet pickup truck, followed by Kenneth Nalley, Jr. of Springville in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, who in turn was followed by Laura Cullison of Owensburg in a Saturn. The pickup truck went past the legal left turn onto S.R. 45, then slammed on their brakes and made an illegal left turn onto S.R. 45. Nalley slammed on his brakes and avoided striking the pickup truck in the rear. Cullison slammed on her brakes and veered right, but slid on the wet pavement and was unable to avoid striking Nalley in the rear. The unstruck pickup truck just left the scene. Greene County Reserve Deputy Karen Oliphant was the investigating officer.

ACTIVITY LOG

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Tuesday included three follow-up investigations, one juvenile/delinquent, one assist to the utility department after hours, one vandalism, one drug investigation, one school/foot patrol, two accidents with personal injury, two medical/illness, two animal complaints, one suspicious vehicle/person, one assist to another agency, one harassment complaint, one reckless driver, one disabled/stranded vehicle, one welfare check/concern, one 911 prank/false call and one domestic dispute.

* Dec. 4 -- At 9:15 a.m., a Worthington resident reported their black Ford truck had been parked in the red zone at Wal-Mart while they went into the store for a few minutes between 8 and 8:30. When they returned, the rear passenger door had been damaged. It appeared to have been struck by a shopping cart. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* Dec. 4 -- No injuries were reported in an accident involving two vehicles around 8 a.m. on Park Road near the Mobile Manor. Cory Barnes, Linton, was northbound on Park Rd. in a Ford Bronco. Joseph Edgell, Linton, was exiting the middle exit of the Mobile Manor in a Cadillac but did not see Barnes coming and pulled into his path striking the passenger's side door area. The impact forced Barnes into a ditch. The cause of the accident was failure to yield. Total damage was estimated at $10,001-25,000. Seatbelts were in use. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer.
