Steven T. Cox, 82, of Linton and formerly of Carlisle, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at his residence.
Born Dec. 22, 1924 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Arthur and Adelia Bedwell Cox.
He was a self-employed plumber, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of VFW Post No. 2459 in Sullivan and American Legion Post No. 22 of Linton.
Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Alice Meek Cox of Linton; two sons Gary A. (Cheryl) Cox of Carlisle, James S. (Teresa) Cox, Sr. of Carlisle; two daughters, Debra Perkins of Linton and Jamie D. (Daniel) Templeton of Savanah,GA; nine grandchildren, Crystal Cox, Andrew Steven Perkins, Gary Cox, Jr., Steven Thomas Cox, James Steven Cox, Jr.,Kevin Michael Cox, Justin Allen Cox, Jaiden Danielle Templeton, Stephanie Michelle Templeton, two great-grandchildren, Braylen Andrew Perkins and Lillian Lee Cox; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Roscoe, Wilber, Henry, Levi, Wesley, Perry and Leslie Cox; five sisters, Dorothy Mullins, Fancy Mullins, Sylvia Hill, Ruby Williams, Victoria Cox; one grandson, Travis Allen Cox; and one great-grandson, Andy Steven Cravens Perkins.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with Rev. Harely Archer officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn, Hymera Legion Posts and the Sullivan County VFW Post.
Friends may call at the the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and before services on Thursday.
