He was born in Switz City on March 3, 1927, the son of Frankie, Jr. and Margaret Doris (Mills) Justus.
He was a United States Navy veteran, serving in World War II. He worked in quality control at NSWC Crane for 26 years. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the American Legion Post No. 22, both of Linton, and a 50-year member of the Switz City Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife Evelyn (Bowersock) Justus of Linton whom he married Oct. 19, 1946; his daughter, Sharon Kay Swab and her husband, Harold, of Linton; a son-in-law, Jerry Haldeman of Linton; two brothers, Ron and Charlie Justus, both of Camby; a sister, Mary Ann Rupe of Isaquois, WA; a brother-in-law, Dale Bowersock of Linton; three grandchildren, Bryan Haldeman, Kevin Ray Haldeman and Heather Jancosek; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; his daughter, Connie Haldeman on Jan. 5, 2003; his grandson, Robert Dean Haldeman on Nov. 9, 2007; and his brother, James Wesley Justus on Oct. 4, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11a.m. on Saturday with Rev. David Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Switz City Cemetery with military gravesite rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 22 from Linton.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m, with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
