GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

* Dec. 29 -- GCSD has been investigating an accident involving two vehicles at 5:55 p.m. on State Road 59 south of Vicksburg. Tony Rode, 58, Dugger, was driving a 1988 Honda Civic northbound on S.R. 59 when he crossed the yellow line and ran off the west side of the roadway. He then came back on the roadway in front of Zane Gennicks, 25, Linton, driving a 1996 Ford Ranger. After striking the Gennicks vehicle, Rode left the roadway on the east side and ran into a ditch, two phone boxes and a pole. The Greene County Ambulance Service transported Rode to Greene County General Hospital where he submitted to a blood draw. According to a news release from the GCSD, medical problems could have been a factor in the accident. GCSD Deputy Jeremy Inman, the investigating officer, was assisted by the Linton Police Department.

* Jan. 1 -- No injuries were reported after an accident involving one vehicle at 4 p.m. north of Linton at the intersection of County Roads 1225 West and 400 North. Sheri Fiscus, 26, Dugger, was driving a 2002 Buick northbound on C.R. 1225 W., failed to stop at the intersection with C.R. 400 N. and then ran into a ditch causing damage to the front end of the vehicle. With a B.A.C. (Blood Alcohol Content) of .11, the driver was later placed under arrest. GCSD Deputy Jeremy Inman, the investigating officer, was assisted by the Linton Police Department.

* Jan. 1 -- A Switz City man reported he was involved in an accident around 8:45 p.m. southeast of Linton on Base Road near County Road 1000 West. He was traveling westbound on Base Rd. when he met another vehicle which was on his side of the road. He got over to the right and slipped off the road into a ditch. He reported the other vehicle did not stop. GCSD Deputy Dured Townsend was the investigating officer.

* Dec. 31 -- Russell L. Byers, Jr., 42, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Bond was set at $4,000. Indiana State Police Trooper Eric Nash was the arresting officer.

* Dec. 31 -- Felipe I. Ruiz, 35, Worthington, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana, released on $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 7. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeremy Inman was the arresting officer.

* Jan. 1 -- Sheri L. Fiscus, 27, Dugger, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, released on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Jeremy Inman was the arresting officer.

* Jan. 1 -- Paul W. Page, Jr., 20, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $1,000. Linton Police Department Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.

* Jan. 1 -- Larry E. Robinson, 71, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated -- refusal, released on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3. Jasonville Police Department Officer Danny Keller was the arresting officer.

* Jan. 1 -- Derrick L. Combs, 21, Worthington, was arrested on preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, released on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 3. Worthington Police Department Deputy Marshal Don Richardson was the arresting officer.

* Jan. 1 -- Heath A. Shultz, 28, Elnora, was arrested on a preliminary charge of public intoxication, released on $500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 7. Greene County Sheriff's Department Jeremy Inman was the arresting officer.
