Wilma I. Browning, 88, of Bloomfield, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008 at Garden Villa in Bloomington.
Born March 9, 1919 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Simon and Iva Nora (Lewis) Chanley.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Bloomfield Church of Christ.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, William T. Browning and wife Rosemary of Bloomington and John D. Browning; four daughters, Sharon L. Salmon of Elizabethtown, Ky., Rose Marie Baron and husband Joe of Indianapolis, Patricia L. Hamlin and husband John David of Bloomfield, and Sherrille J. Hayse and husband Tom of Elizabethtown, Ky.; 26 grandchildren, 22 great, grandchildren, and 8 great, great, grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Browning on Jan. 23, 1991, parents, a daughter, two grandsons, two great, grandchildren, three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Grant Riggins officiating.
Interment will be in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and one hour prior to service Saturday at the funeral home.
