Born April 11, 1919 in Greene County, he was the son of Riley and Minnie (Cullison) Carrell.
He retired from Interstate Motor Freight of Indianapolis in 1978. An U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Worthington American Legion Post and a life member of the Worthington V. F. W.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (McNeely) Carrell of Worthington; two daughters, Linda (Jack) Gadberry. Jasonville and Sue (Dennis) Bough, Worthington; two step-daughters, Pat Cobble, Worthington, Becky (Robert) Henry, Worthington; one step-son, Billie E. Lee, Martinsville; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; one great-grandson and several step great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby (Weaver) Carrell in 1978; a daughter, Norma L. Frye; two brothers, Orville and Virgil Carrell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington with Randy Harris officiating.
Visitation will be after noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
