GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

* Jan. 12 -- When officers responded to a report of two people fighting, they found a man standing alongside State Road 59 just north of County Road 300 North in Stockton Township. The man, Kenny R. Cordell, was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and several objects used to smoke the two drugs as well as a large sum of cash. He was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail. GCSD Deputy Skyler J. Pittman was the investigating officer. Others responding to the scene included GCSD Deputy Leon Dunigan and Reserve Deputy Mark Evans, Linton Police Department Cpl. Chad Crynes and Indiana State Police Trooper Brad Stille.

* Jan. 13 -- No injuries were reported after an accident involving one vehicle at 10:29 p.m. on County Road 150 North, east of County Road 1375 West in Stockton Township. Tony B. Mowery of Linton said he was putting a chew in and the next thing he knew he hit something. It was a bridge abutment. He had crossed the center of the road then hit it head-on. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Dured L. Townsend was the investigating officer.

Jan. 11 -- Robert C. Patterson, 61, Lyons, was arrested on a preliminary charge of four counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and was being held without bond. Lyons Police Department Town Marshal Ron Sparks was the arresting officer.

Jan. 11 -- Jonathan D. Dickey, 25, Vincennes, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy John Fowler was the arresting officer.

Jan. 11 -- Steven JW. Gibson, 18, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary of a structure and theft and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Department Det. George Dallaire was the arresting officer.

Jan. 11 -- Timothy R. Gibson, 23, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft and forgery and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Department Det. George Dallaire was the arresting officer.

Jan. 12 -- Joe W. Koons III, 27, Cloverdale, was arrested on a warrant from Morgan County for a probation violation and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Department Reserve Deputy Rick Marques was the arresting officer.

Jan. 12 -- Kenny R. Cordell, 25, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and reckless possession of paraphernalia and was being held without bond. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Skyler Pittman was the arresting officer.

Jan. 12 -- Robert J. Clifft, 31, Bloomfield, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, driving while suspended and reckless driving and was being held without bond. Worthington Police Department Deputy Marshal Don Richardson was the arresting officer.

Jan. 13 -- Joseph S. Gibson, 26, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, residential entry and criminal mischief and was being held without bond. Linton Police Department Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.

The Linton Police Department's activity log for Friday through Sunday included two title checks, three follow-up investigations, seven requests for information only, four juveniles/delinquent, one vandalism, three school/foot patrols, two structure fires, one vehicle fire, two transports of documentation, one accident with personal injury, three accidents with property damage, two funeral escorts, one medical/illness, four alarms, one prowler, one suspicious vehicle/person, one assist to another agency, one harassment complaint, one possibly intoxicated driver, two extra patrols, five thefts-other, one disabled/stranded vehicle, two missing persons-adult, two fingerprints for a gun permit, one arrest-wanted on warrant, two assists to the fire department, two domestic disputes, three ordinance violations and ten traffic stops.

* Jan. 11 -- No injuries were reported after a two vehicle accident on N.E. 10th St. at 6:10 p.m. A resident had been parked, started backing up and sideswiped the passenger side of another car which they did not see. Total damages were estimated to be $1000-2500. LPD Cpl. Chad Crynes was the investigating officer.

* Jan. 11 -- A resident reported an incident of criminal mischief upon their vehicle after they left their workplace at a local business around 10:30 p.m. Someone had thrown eggs and tampons on their car. LPD Patrolman Jayson Smith is the investigating officer.

* Jan. 12 -- A resident reported the theft of Craftsman tools and a Craftsman Skillsaw which occurred earlier in the month. LPD Patrolman Keith McDonald is the investigating officer.

* Jan. 12 -- A resident on S.E. 6th St. reported an incident of criminal mischief after they came home to find their house had been egged and toilet-papered. No permanent damage was reported. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark was the investigating officer.

* Jan. 13 -- A resident on N.W. 11th St. reported the theft of prescription medicine out of a kitchen cabinet but nothing else was taken. The house was left unlocked. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer.

* Jan. 13 -- A drive-off theft was reported by the Country Porch on S.R. 54 West at approximately 8 a.m. when a male driver wearing a leather jacket pumped $37.72 worth of gas then left without paying driving a 1998 white Subaru. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen is the investigating officer.

* Jan. 13 -- A resident reported a battery which occurred at 1:22 a.m. in the alley behind the N Zone Bar following an earlier altercation inside the bar. The man had exited the bar by the rear entrance and was walking east down the alley when the other person in the altercation came around a corner towards him, walked up and punched him in the face. LPD Patrolman Jayson Smith is the investigating officer.
