Former mayor's family grateful for thoughts, prayers

To the Editor:

We would like to thank all our family, friends and the entire community for all of the love, support, thoughts and prayers with the passing away of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather -- Jimmie K. Wright.

Special thanks to Pastor Doug Cassell, Mrs. Jenny Cassell, Pastor Dan DeLaney, our Bethel Baptist Church family, Pastor Tyra and the Linton First Baptist Church, Welch and Cornett Funeral Home, Todd Walton, Kenny Gillian and the entire funeral home staff, Gary Ready, the Greene County Daily World and Christy Lehman, the surrounding community newspapers, and WTWO-TV 2, WTHI-TV 10.

Also the City of Linton and Mayor Tom Jones for ordering the flags across town to be flown half mass, the Linton Police Department and Keith McDonald, the Linton Fire Department and Tom Robinson, the Greene County Sheriff's Department and Sheriff Terry Pierce, Fairview Cemetery staff and Larry Fulford, Dr. Richard Combs and his nurse Teresa, the Linton Dialysis Center staff -- especially Cheri Stevens and Sara Wall -- Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington Hospital Home Health & Hospice, those who visited us at home, the funeral home, at the church for the funeral, those who called, sent cards, flowers, etc.

Thank you to the entire community of the City of Linton. Jimmie K deeply loved the City of Linton and its citizens within. He truly felt it to be a huge honor to have served as your mayor of the City of Linton for 20 years.

To the Wright family, Jimmie K was the "greatest" and "our hero!" Jimmie K often reminded our family how God had blessed us. He often said that he may not be rich, but there were none richer than what he had with the love of his family.

It is times like these, with the exceptional outpouring of love and support from our family, friends, and the entire community that has opened our family's eyes to just how blessed we truly are.

Words cannot express the comfort all of this has brought us at such a difficult time.
