Vanessa Lou Thompson, 73, of Dugger, passed away at 6:42 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
She was born in Dugger on Nov. 19, 1933, the daughter of Ollie Terhune and Flora Borders Terhune.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Dugger, received her Associates Degree in Nursing at Vincennes University, and retired as Director of Nurses at Sullivan Convalescent Center.
Survivors include: her husband of 54 years Benjamin F. Thompson; two sons; Franklin L. Thompson and wife Sharon of Terre Haute, William Thompson and wife Cindy of Bourbonnais, Ill.; two daughters, Janie K. Pfaff and husband David of Willow Branch, Jennifer Thompson of Dugger; two brothers; John Terhune of Dugger and Thomas Terhune of Twinsville, OH.; three sisters, Jane Simmons of Sullivan, Martha Goodman of Dugger, and Kaye Bedwell of Hymera; eight grandchildren, Ryan and wife Melissa Thompson, Timmy Thompson, Aaron and wife Cara Pfaff, Amanda Pfaff, Andrew Pfaff, Sam Pfaff, Mitch Thompson, and Kristin Thompson.
She was preceded in death by a brother Pete Terhune.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Moore officiating. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
