* Jan. 29 -- Mark A. Johnson, 26, Coal City, was arrested on a warrant from Monroe County. Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Bryan Woodall was the arresting officer.



The Linton Police Department's activity log for Tuesday included one title check, five requests for information only, two assists to the utility department after hours, one protective order violation, one school/foot patrol, one disorderly conduct, one brush fire, two accidents with property damage, one funeral escort, six alarms, one animal complaint, one suspicious vehicle/person, two child abuse/neglect, two thefts-other, one welfare check/concern, one fingerprint for a gun permit and one ordinance violation.

* Jan. 29 -- No injuries were reported after an accident involving one vehicle at 9:02 p.m. on I St. N.W. near 3rd St. N.W. Rhonda K. Shipley, Linton, was westbound on I St, talking to a grandson in the back seat, and did not see a tree that had fallen on the edge of the roadway due to high winds. The car stuck the tree causing $1,000-2,500 damage to the car. The occupants were wearing seat belts. LPD Det. Jayson Smith was the investigating officer.

* Jan. 29 -- A drive-off theft of gas was reported from Casey's General Store at 10:15 p.m. after a person in a '90s model white Chevrolet Cavalier pumped $39.02 worth of gas then drove off without paying. LPD Det. Jayson Smith is the investigating officer.
