Mildred Marie (Kohr) Cravens, 92, of Linton, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 30, 2008, at Glenburn Home in Linton.

She was born March 1, 1915, in Winchester, Kentucky, the daughter of Ralph S. and LouEtta (Couch) Kohr.

She was a lifetime member of the Linton First Christian Church, a 1934 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School, a 1937 graduate of the Indiana University School of Nursing, and a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing. She worked at Freeman Greene County Hospital and became the plant nurse at the Linton General Electric in 1952, retiring there at age 70 in 1985. She was also a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, Daughters of the Nile, the Linton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and of the Greene County Nurses Association. She was a camp nurse for the Linton Girl Scouts.

Survivors include her husband, William G. "Bill" Cravens, to whom she was married Dec. 22, 1955; a son, Joe Michael Kelley and his wife, Marsha, of Linton; one grandson, J. Merrick Kelley and his wife, Lisa, of Spring, TX; two sisters, Laverne Morrison of Fayetteville, GA and Lorena Elliott of Pigeon, MI; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joe B. Kelley, in 1943; and a foster brother, Ralph Couch.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel, Warren Shake and Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the services.

The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to the Linton First Christian Church.
