Jack Leon Lucas, 76, of Linton, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.
He was born Dec. 11, 1931, in Marco, the son of Columbus Matthew and Mabel (Arney) Lucas.
He retired from the United States Postal Service after carrying mail in Indianapolis. He was a member of the New Covenant Full Gospel Church in Linton, an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lee (Padgett) Lucas of Linton; two sons, Michael L. Lucas and his wife, Karen, of Danville, and Rick L. Shouse and his wife, Jana, of Linton; three daughters, Connie Jo Scott and her husband, Larry, of Indianapolis, Kathy Mowery and her husband, Randy, of Linton, and Diane Ball of Linton; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Geneva Lou Lucas; a daughter, Deborah Lou Lucas, in 1959; two grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday 8 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home's Linton Chapel with Ron Drew officiating. A Committal Service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Memory Garden in Greenwood. The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside rites.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Friday.
