Jack L. Huffman, 75, of rural Linton, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
He was born on March 25, 1932, to Olas L. and Frances Jean (Maners) Huffman.
On Nov. 22, 1972, he married Doris A. Moody.
He graduated from Bloomfield High School in the class of 1950. He joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Later he took a job with Otis Elevator in Bloomington, where he worked 24 years and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield, Linton BPO Elks 866, Linton American Legion Post 22 where he was a lifetime member and past commander, Linton VFW Post 7118 where he was also a lifetime member, 40 & 8 member of Vincennes, Ind., Masonic Lodge 560 F & AM of Linton, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine and Greene County Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife, Doris A. Huffman of Linton, one son, Jack O. (Debbie) Huffman of Bloomfield; two daughters Lisa (Bill) Arnold of Bowling Green, Ky., and Kathy L. (Tim) Turpen of Bloomfield; five grandchildren Heather, Ashley, Shane, Jared and Justin; and three great granddaughters Darien, Camryn, and Amelia. Two aunts, Billie Brown and Nina Thompson, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Norma and Frank Miller, also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4-8 on Sunday, and a Masonic memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Calling hours continue Monday from 9-11 a.m. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m., with Arlen Pope officiating.
Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, with Military Graveside Rites.
