Paul Thomas, 74, of Clayton, IN, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born April 1, 1933 in Martin Co, the son of the late Albert Thomas and Nancy Taylor Thomas.

He married Iris Jean Lacy on February 9, 1957 and were happily married for over 50 years.

He was member and Elder of Belleville Church of Christ, coached Little League baseball for Liberty Township for many years, was a Precinct Committeeman for Liberty Township and a volunteer firefighter for Liberty Township where he served as secretary/treasurer.

He worked as a forklift truck driver for GM Allisons.

Surviving are his wife, Iris Jean Lacy Thomas; sons, Caleb (Jean) Thomas of Cloverdale, Michael (Lori) Thomas of Clayton, David (Debbie) Thomas of North Salem, Philip (Laura) Thomas of Lizton; a daughter, Leah (Donald) Perry of North Salem, 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brothers, Thornton Thomas, Houston Thomas and Justin Thomas; and sisters, Thelma Hoyt, Sue Jones and Mary Kelley.

He was preceded in death by brother, Ward Thomas; sister, Alberta Troyan; and his twin sister, Pauline Hodges.

Friends will be received 3-8 p.m. Monday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

Services will be held at Belleville Church of Christ, 5635 S. CR 200 E., Clayton, IN, Tuesday at 11 a.m. with James Hahn officiating.

Interment will follow in the Clayton Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown.
