Born in Greene County on May 22, 1912, she was the daughter of Marvin E. and Maggie (Swango) Johnson. Fredrick Leo Dorraugh was Vena's first husband and after his death, she married a second time to John Edward Talbott.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed outdoor gardening, spending time with family and friends, and Sunday dinners at the farm highlighted by her homemade pies and fried chicken. She was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, James David Dorraugh; a granddaughter, Filinda Lu (Michael) Farris of Brazil; a step-son, William J. (Pat) Talbott of Indianapolis; a step-granddaughter, Julie (Ryan) Lechleidner of Indianapolis; and a sister, Ruby Brothers of Westland, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers, Hubert and Chester Johnson; and two sisters, Dorothy Watson and Ruth Wells.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.Tuesday.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Doug Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
