Richard G. "Dick" Townsend, 84, of St. Paul passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.
Born Dec. 6, 1923 in rural St. Paul, he was the so of Eber and Lucille (Davison) Townsend.
A life-long self employed farmer, he was the former president of the Union Chapel Cemetery Assocation, a 50-year member and worshipful master of the former Milford Masonic Lodge No. 217.
Survivors include: a son, Gary Richard Townsend of rural St. Paul; daughters, Christine Townsend of Greensburg, Carolyn (Gary) Sullivan of Switz City and Beth Ann Townsend of rural St. Paul; a brother, John Townsend of St. Paul; grandchildren, Rachel Lynn (Chris) Hardesty of Worthington, Erin Denise (Christopher) Wilson of Bloomfield, Michael Wayne Sullivan of Switz Cityl abd a great-grandchild, Questyn Hardesty of Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Charolette Leffler Townsend; and his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Union Chapel Methodist Church in Decatur County. A memorial service will be held at the church beginning at 2 p.m.
Burial be at a later date.
