Born Aug. 7, 1914 in Daviess County, he was the son of Chester and Mina (McCarter) Johnson.
He was an electrician for RCA in Bloomington retiring in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Church in Bloomfield. He was well known throughout the area for playing the fiddle.
Surviving relatives include: his children, Paul E. Johnson of Odon, twins, Roy E. "Louie" Johnson of Odon and Ruth E. Miller of Newberry, and Dale E. Johnson of Bloomfield; nine grandchildren, eight great, grandchildren, and two great, great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes M. Johnson on April 9, 2002, one grandson, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor Pat Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
