GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

* Mar. 7 -- No injuries were reported after a one-vehicle accident at 10:40 a.m. on State Road 54, north of County Road 150 South in Center Township. Andrew Miller, 32, Bloomfield, was southbound on S.R. 54 when his 1992 Ford F-150 pickup truck began slicing on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle spun 180 degrees then traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a tree. GCSD Deputy Terry Wade was the investigating officer. Center Township Fire Department and Ray's Wrecker Service assisted on the scene.

* Mar. 7 -- No injuries were reported after a one-vehicle accident at 12:45 p.m. on County Road 800 East, south of C.R. 25 N. in Center Township. Michelle Jennings, 29, Bloomfield was southbound on C.R. 800 E. when her 2007 Ford F-150 pickup truck began sliding on the snow-covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the west side of the road, struck a mailbox, then hit a tree head-on before coming to a rest. GCSD Deputy Terry Wade was the investigating officer. Ray's Wrecker Service assisted on the scene.

* Mar. 7 -- A driver complained of pain but refused treatment on the scene after an accident on County Road 300 East just north of C.R. 410 N. in Highland Township. Rebecca McKinney, 44, Bloomfield, was coming down a snow-covered hill, southbound on C.R. 300 E., when her 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck started sliding. The right rear corner of the truck caught a concrete bridge abutment causing the vehicle to spin around and off into a large ditch. The truck then flipped over onto its top up against a tree. The driver suffered pain to her knee. GCSD Deputy Christopher McDonald was the investigating officer.

* Mar. 8 -- Police reported both speed as well as roadway conditions were contributing factors in an accident at 4 a.m. on Country Road 1250 West, north of C.R. 400 N. in Wright Township. Billy J. Lynn, Jr., 45, Jasonville, was northbound on C.R. 1250 W. in a 1998 Ford Taurus when the vehicle came into a curve and slid on the snow and ice. The car traveled off the north side of the roadway, down a large embankment striking several trees before coming to rest on its top. GCSD Deputy Terry Wade was the investigating officer. Markle's Towing assisted on the scene.

* Mar. 8 -- A vehicle was damaged but the driver was uninjured in a car-deer incident at 1:36 p.m. in Stockton Township near the county line. Luke A. Knight, 16, Linton, was westbound on State Road 54 near County Road 1600 West in a 2001 Ford Winstar when a deer jumped into his path and collided with the van. The front end was damaged but was able to be driven from the scene. GCSD Deputy J. Aaron Smith was the investigating officer.

* Mar. 8 -- No injuries were reported but County Road 1100 east was closed for approximately one hour after an accident east of S.R. 43 at 11:50 p.m. in Center Township. Jessica N. Jenkins, 17, Solsberry, was eastbound on C.R. 1100 E. when she said her vehicle dropped off the edge of the road causing her to lose control and strike a utility pole and break it in two. GCSD Deputy Christopher P. McDonald was the investigating officer. ISP Trooper Brad Stille assisted on the scene.

* Mar. 7 -- Timothy W. Reeves, 29, Dugger, was arrested on a preliminary charge of failure to register as a sex offender and was being held on $4,000 bond. Greene County Sheriff's Det. George Dallaire was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 7 -- Tracy D. Thompson, 39, Bloomington, was arrested for failure to appear, released on $5,000 bond on Mar. 8 and scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 14. Greene County Sheriff's Department Reserve Officer Lee Condol was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 8 -- Joseph F. Ball, 28, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of intimidation and was being held on $4,000 bond. Linton Police Department Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 8 -- Brian K. Morton, 44, Lyons, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine and manufacturing methamphetamine and was being held without bond. Linton Police Department Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 8 -- Omes P. Hooker, Jr., 49, Indianapolis, was arrested on preliminary charges of residential entry, criminal mischief and resisting law enforcement and was being held on $7,000 bond. Worthington Police Department Deputy Marshal Eric Floyd was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 8 -- Carl T. Romine, 38, Jasonville, was arrested for on a warrant for failure to appear and was being held on $5,000 bond. Jasonville Police Department Officer Brian Pilant was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 9 -- Matthew D. Russell, 23, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of domestic battery in the presence of a child, released on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 14. Linton Police Department Cpl. Paul Clark was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 9 -- Chance M. Schubla, 23, Linton, was arrested on a petition to revoke and was being held without bond. Linton Police Department Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 9 -- David L. Griffith, 32, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of two counts of burglary and two counts of theft and was being held on $38,000 bond. Linton Police Department Patrolman Debbie McDonald was the arresting officer.

* Mar. 9 -- Shannon K. Meyers, 31, Terre Haute, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana, released on Mar. 10 on $4,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Mar. 18. Jasonville Police Department Officer Brian Pilant was the arresting officer.

LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

ACTIVITY REPORT

The Linton Police Department's activity report for Friday through Sunday included one incident of stalking, one follow-up investigation, one request for information only, three juvenile/delinquent, one assist to the utility department after hours, one incident of vandalism, two drug investigations, two school/foot patrols, one utility repair, six accidents with property damage, one funeral escort, two mental cases, three medical/illness, three alarms, one animal complaint, one check of vehicle identification number, one suspicious vehicle/person, one harassment complaint, one possibly intoxicated driver, two thefts-other, one welfare check/concern, one fingerprint for a gun permit, four arrests-wanted on warrants, two assists to the fire department, one domestic dispute, one battery and four traffic stops.

* Mar. 8 -- A resident reported a battery which allegedly occurred at 3:25 a.m. at the N-Zone Bar but then refused (as of early Monday) to give a written statement to police. The reporting party told police he was leaving the bar by the back door when he was approached by another person who hit him in the head for no reason. He said he left the bar without hitting the suspect back. There were no visible signs of injury. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark was the investigating officer.

* Mar. 8 -- A Merom resident reported they were in Linton, leaving the hospital parking lot at 10:15 a.m., when a person in a dark blue foreign SUV backed into their vehicle leaving a scratch down the left side, then fled the scene. LPD Det. Duane Collenbaugh was the investigating officer.

* Mar. 9 -- A resident of Mobile Manor reported an incident of criminal mischief when his front door was "egged" sometime between 12 and 2 p.m. When he left, there were three kids outside his residence. LPD Patrolman Debbie McDonald was the investigating officer.

* Mar. 9 -- Chance M. Schubla, 23, Linton, was arrested on a warrant for a petition to revoke a suspended sentence in connection with the offense of arson, a class B felony. Schubla was taken into custody at 3:10 p.m. without incident at the Country Porch Gas Station in west Linton and transported to the Greene County Jail. During the booking process, he listed his occupation as self-employed. Schubla is being held without bond. LPD Det. Josh Goodman was the investigating officer assisted by Patrolman Debbie McDonald.

* Mar. 9 -- At 6:51 p.m. a resident reported their purse had been stolen while they were at the N-Zone Bar earlier. The purse was later recovered but an ID card, a Visa debit card from Regions Bank and $30 cash were missing. At the time the report was made, the victim said the card had already been used twice - once at Burger King and once at Dollar General. LPD Det. Josh Goodman is the investigating officer.

* Mar. 9 -- Matthew David Russell, 23, Linton, was arrested on a warrant in connection with a preliminary charge in Greene Superior Court for domestic battery in the presence of a child, a class D felony. Officers were aware of the outstanding warrant when they saw Russell walking on a sidewalk on E.Vincennes St. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Greene County Jail where bond was $4,000. LPD Cpl. Paul Clark was the arresting officer with assistance from Reserve Officer Kent Medlock.
