GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
* Mar. 13 -- No injuries were reported after an accident at 5:20 a.m. involving a deer. Sara Bellamy, 53, Linton, was southbound on State Road 59, one-quarter mile south of County Road 100 South, in a 2007 Ford Edge when she struck a deer. GCSD Depupty Christopher P. McDonald was the investigating officer.
* Mar. 12 -- Michael L. Rogers, 50, Jasonville, was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery with bodily injury and was being held on $1,000 bond. Jasonville Police Department Officer James Gadberry was the arresting officer.
LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Linton Police Department's activity log for Wednesday included one driver's license check, one license plate check, one follow-up investigation, 10 requests for information only, one assist to the utility department after hours, two vandalism, one school/foot patrol, one transport of documentation, one accident with property damage, two medical/illness, one animal complaint, one suspicious vehicle/person, two assists to other agencies, two harassment complaints, one possibly intoxicated driver, one extra patrol, one bicycle recovered, one animal/canine removed, one battery and 19 traffic stops.
* Mar. 8 -- Joseph F. Ball, 28, Linton, was arrested around 11 p.m. and transported to Greene County Jail in connection with a call made to a resident's cell phone. According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Greene Superior Court, police listened to a voice mail message Ball left in which he was very irate, made specific threats against the resident and threatened to kill them. Ball was charged with intimidation, a class D felony. He was released on $4,000 bond on Mar. 10. The case is scheduled to go to trial on June 10. LPD Det. Josh Goodman was the arresting officer.
* Mar. 11 -- No injuries were reported after an accident involving two vehicles at 1:10 p.m. on Roosevelt St. at the intersection with 11th St. N.E. Marsha Richards, 55, Linton, was driving a 2006 Chevy HHR northbound on 11th St. N.E. passing Roosevelt St. when Angela Clifford, 34, Lyons, was stopped at the intersection facing east in a 1999 Dodge Durango when her foot slipped off the break, causing her to lunge into the intersection and strike the other vehicle. The total damage estimate was $10,000-25,000. LPD Patrolman Karl Jacobshagen was the investigating officer. LPD Reserve Officer Kyle Butler provided assistance on the scene.
