H.D.(Duane) Boardman, Geraldine Boardman

H.D. (Duane) and Geraldine Boardman, of Boonville, passed away at their home from natural causes.

Duane was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Geraldine and was a loving father and proud grandfather.

Duane and Geraldine were members of the First Baptist Church in Boonville, IN.

Duane was president of Linton Broadcasting Co. Inc. from 1956 until his retirement in 1979 at WBTO Radio Station. He was a 50-year Mason with Strangers Rest Lodge No. 240, F.&A.M.

He was a World War II veteran in the Marine Air Corps and was a Tailgunner on a Douglas Dive Bomber. Later in the war he was radio operator/navigator on the F7F and was discharged as Warrant Officer in 1945. He served in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Geraldine served as Vice President of Linton Broadcasting Co. Inc.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Madden Boardman and a brother, Warren Boardman.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, H.C. (Jack) and Bertha Ellen Sanders.

Duane and Geraldine are survived by a son, Larry Boardman of Woodbury, MN; and a daughter, Ellen Knapp and her husband, Stephen of Boonville, IN; and three grandchildren, David and Joshua Knapp and Samuel Boardman.

Duane is also survived by three sisters, Phyllis Worley of Boonville, IN, Wilmot Capogna of Elizabethtown, KY and Martha Richmond of Clarksville, TN; and a brother, Ferrell Boardman of Stendale, IN.

Geraldine is also survived by a brother, Edgar B. Sanders of Owensboro, KY.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

There will be a private joint graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery with military rites for Duane provided by the Warrick Co. Veterans Memorial Services. A Masonic Service will be held for Duane at the Funeral Home.

There will be no visitation at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Duane and Geraldine may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
