Marybelle Hamilton, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away 12:40 a.m. Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Aug. 30, 1921 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Ray and Elizabeth (Switz) English.
She was a homemaker and worked as a steam presser for Bell Cleaners in Bloomfield. She was also the bookkeeper for Hamilton Trucking. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bloomfield and the Delta Theta Tau soroity.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Roberta Rae Vandeventer of Bloomfield; one son, Terry Lee Hamilton of Ray City, Georgia; five grandchildren, Penny Lee Flythe of Valdosta Georgia, Jenny Belle McDaniel of Adel, Georgia, James Curtis Vandeventer of Bloomfield, Angela Sue Vandeventer of Indianapolis, and Garett Sean Vandeventer of Mitchell; eight great, grandchildren, Brittney Alexandra and Bradley Alexander McDaniel of Adel, Georgia, Katie Jane and Jake Edward Flythe of Valdosta, Georgia, James Benjamin and Neal Lukas Vandeventer of Bloomfield, and Zachary Garett and Megan Eliza Vandeventer both of Mitchell; one sister, Norma Anderson and her husband James of Morresville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hamilton on June 28, 1987, three brothers, Guy, Dale, and Wayne English, two sisters, Louise Roudebush and Doris Boyd, one son, Ronnie Hamilton, and her parents.
Services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Robert Lorimer officiating. Interment will be in Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday and 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Delta Theta Tau Sorority will have services at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
