Robert "Bob" Hubble, 84, of Linton, passed away at 12:39 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Glenburn Home in Linton.
He was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Greene County, the son of Earl and Elsie (Thomas) Hubble.
He worked for Peabody Coal Co., retiring as superintendent at the Jasonville shops. He was a member of the First Baptist Church & Masonic Lodge No. 560, both of Linton, and the United Mine Workers, Greene County Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and Zorah Shrine, both of Terre Haute.
Survivors include two sons, Bill (Carolyn) Hubble of Bloomfield Donald Dean (Maren) Hubble of Evansville; four step-daughters, Cheri Campbell of Bloomfield, Linda Sargent of Elnora, Toni Freeman of Worthington and Terri Pursell of Owensburg.; two step-sons, Lance Seever of Linton and Tim Baker of Odon; a sister, Mary Lou Liechty of Clay City; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Ruth Anna (Beasley) Hubble and Ruth Dean (Seever) Hubble; and three brothers, Jim, Ray, & Roy Hubble.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Reverend David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. The Linton Masonic Lodge will conduct memorial services at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
