Arnold Lee Sargent, 84, passed away April 5, 2008 in Orlando, FL.
He was born Dec. 2, 1923 in Linton, IN. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, past member of the Elks and Kiwanis in Linton, and the Scottish Rite of Terre Haute, and a member of the First United Church of Christ in Orlando, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Esther Jane Sargent of Orlando, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Frank Towles also of Orlando, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Angelika Sargent of Minneola, FL; six grandchildren, Michael, Andrew and Jennifer Sargent, and Jeannie, Daniel and Karin Towles; three great grandchildren, Nathan Towles, and Gage and Kaitlyn Onofre; one sister, Mary Powell and husband, Harold; two nieces, LouAnn Duncan and Clara Griffin; brother-in-laws, Harold W. Moehlman and wife Vera, Alfred W. Moehlman and wife, Patricia; and sister-in-laws, Margaret Moehlman and Helen Rhodenbeck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas McDonald and Bertha Sargent; and brother, Donald Jr.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Wednesday from 9 -- 11 a.m. with services following at 11 a.m. at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Conway Chapel in Orlando, Fla.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
